ABOUT LISA

​

Lisa has spent over 25 years as a green career expert and is passionate about helping others to find and secure rewarding careers in the environmental field.

​

She led the University of Michigan's School for Environment and Sustainability (U-M SEAS) graduate career services for 10 years--assisting hundreds of students in finding and securing dream internships and jobs. Lisa built the school’s career services from the ground up, creating successful career programs and events that are still running today. She has a strong network of green employers across the globe and is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator.

Prior to working at U-M SEAS, she completed a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability and then spent 12 years working for the National Wildlife Federation. Her work at NWF included binational water policy and wolf conservation efforts in the Great Lakes as well as state, federal, and tribal conservation efforts. Lisa also helped develop students and women as environmental leaders and to grow the organizational capacities of several NWF state affiliates while also helping to diversify their leadership.

In 2016, Lisa launched her own company, Green Career Advisor, expanding her work to help mid-career professionals and career changers (in addition to students and recent graduates). Lisa also provides career coaching to U-M alumni through the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan. Outside of work, Lisa is an avid nature nerd who maintains native pollinator gardens, loves camping and hiking, and is a climate and conservation advocate.
